Girl Friends - 09/09/1931

CHESTER GOULD (1900 - 1985) was studying law when he got a job doing sports cartoons for the City Daily Oklahomian. He later worked for the Hearst papers and drew Radio Lanes, Fillum Fables, and Modern Millie. However, his greatest fame, of course, came when he sold Dick Tracy to the Chicago Tribune and New York Daily News in 1931. He continued to write and draw the strip for many years.

This original art to a The Girl Friends comic strip daily dated 9-9-31, just two months before Gould started Dick Tracy. This artwork is in excellent condition, with moderate overall aging, and has a image area of 20" x 6".
