GENE AHERN (1895-1960) went to work for NEA in 1914 after training at the Chicago Art Institute. After creating several lackluster strips, he hit success in 1923 with Our Boarding House, featuring Major Hoople. It's success led to a variant called Room and Board featuring Judge Puffle.
This is the original art for a Room and Board daily dated 12-22-1943. With the exception of a few very minor stains, this piece is in excellent condition and has an overall size of 12.75" x 12".
